Position: Research Fellow at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS), Guest professor at IR department, Tbilisi State University, and CSS interdisciplinary Master’s programs in Social Sciences.

Bio: Eka Akobia cooperates with CSS since 2004. Her professional expertise lies in the fields of global security and defense and theories of International Relations. Currently, she is researching EU-NATO relations in the field of security and defense and the possible implications of these dynamics on the South Caucasus region. She is a member of the National Political Science Honor’s Society, Phi Sigma Alpha (USA). After joining GFSIS, she was selected to attend NATO Senior Executive Master course, in Bucharest, Romania which she graduated with honors. In addition, she has attended variouse training courses on security issues at the NATO HQ, and at the Belgian Royal Defense College, Brussels, Belgium. In 2004 she became a fellow of the Center for Social Sciences and worked on development of course in IR Theories in Georgian. Extended syllabus of the course was published by CSS as a supplementary educational material for MA students. Eka was also involved very actively in development of CSS library and its educational resources in 2004-2006.
